No Nonsense Warranty
Office Information Systems takes pride in offering high quality consulting services as well as a wide variety of network hardware and software products. We acknowledge and encourage our customer's high expectations and we strive to ensure that all of the services and products we provide become productive and time saving tools for the work in which they are used.
Hardware
All of the network hardware we sell, including computers, printers, routers, hubs and switches come with a manufacturer's warranty. Depending on the product, this warranty may last as long as five years or as short as ninety days. During the manufacturer's warranty period, Office Information Systems will act as an intermediary between the end user of the equipment and the manufacturer's service center should the equipment fail.
In some cases Office Information Systems may require that the customer ship us the equipment in question. In other cases, we may have to come on site and pick up the item. Although we have carefully selected our vendors and have considered service quality to be he single most important criteria of doing business with a distributing or manufacturing company, we cannot control the process of repairing equipment once it has left our shop. Some manufacturers can repair an item in twenty-four hours while others may require weeks. In light of this, we will always do our best to expedite your service needs, so as to make the delay as brief and unpleasant as possible.
If a customer router or server is down due to hardware failure, Office Information Systems will respond on the same business day. For hub ports and workstations we will respond within twenty-four hours. Just as our customers expect us to provide high quality service, we expect them to treat their equipment with care. Office Information Systems will not charge customers for its time during the manufacturer's warranty period as long as the equipment failure is due to a manufacturing defect. Any equipment failure resulting from improper use by the customer or electrical problems at the installation site may result in service charges from Office Information Systems. Similarly, any equipment failure resulting from user-installed software or hardware may also result in charges for our time.
Office Information Systems maintains its own service shop, allowing us to diagnose and repair out of warranty equipment, even if that equipment was purchased from another vendor. In most cases, we can repair out of warranty computers within a week of receiving them. In some cases, we can even complete repairs on site. Other types of equipment, such as monitors and printers, still require the proprietary parts and expertise of the manufacturers' service engineers. In these cases, we will either send your equipment to an authorized service center, or inform you of the nearest center to your location.
Software
As part of our consulting Services, Office Information Systems will recommend and, if desired, provide off-the-shelf commercial software that addresses your computing needs. We base our judgments on experience with a vast number of software products and our continual effort to keep up with the latest information and comparative reviews of software capability and compatibility. We always offer our customers a choice and we will always point out the strengths and weaknesses of each option. We will help you install your preferred product and, if applicable, even customize a software solution. For off-the-shelf software, we can provide basic support and training, but in many cases we'll refer you to the full time support staff of these products' manufacturers to obtain the best advice.
For customized solutions, we will charge for our time. We plan projects in stages so that the customer can continually evaluate our progress, with minimum amount of risk. Custom software generally requires a long term effort with a great deal of modification as the users' requirements become better understood by our programming staff. In general, Office Information Systems will be entirely responsible for "bugs," which surface during normal operation, in customized software within the first thirty days after delivery. This refers only to errors relating to syntax or ineffective design. Errors due to differences between the customer’s needs and the programmer's understanding of those needs are considered part of the normal development
process.
Data Integrity
Providing you with information for business decision-making is what our business is all about; and data integrity and security is the single most important consideration following your purchase. Don't let the advanced image of the technology fool you; electronic data is a perishable commodity. If you don't back it up you WILL eventually lose it. A system failure combined with the loss of data can shut down your business or cost you thousands in recovery costs.
Backups are inexpensive, painless, and quick. Office Information Systems provides a variety of backup solutions and we expect our customers to use them. We cannot be responsible for your data when servicing your equipment. If your equipment is still under warranty, we still expect our customers to have a recent backup, within one week, of their valuable information. If we must perform a customer's backup, we will charge for the time; no exceptions.
Our company is committed to maintaining long term, trouble free business relationships with our customers. We always try to be helpful and honor our commitments. Please let us know how we can better serve you.
